WWW: There is a good use of colour and you have the animation worked out very well. I like how you designed the logo as well as the ident story line and this makes your ident even more effective because you designed it to look like a rubix cube which relates to the audience's own era and this will encourage people to watch the channels, idents and its progammes.
EBI: There could have been more movement in the ident by making the grid flash maybe until all the colours on one of the letters is all the same. Also this would make your ident longer without being repetitive as your ident has very little going on it seems like this.
Overall a great ident and you used flair, creativity and laughter to create this successful ident. I think that Chloe's work is working at a distinction because you have shown great creativity and flair also and has been working independently to professional standards.

Peer Evalutation of My Ident
WWW:
- My Ident is very colourful and appealing to the target audience.
- The Ident I created reflects who my target audience is aimed at because of my theme (70s and 80s style).
- It is clever that I incorporated my theme into my logo without being too obvious. My logo states The Grid but it imitates a Rubik's Cube.
- It reminds people of a rave which suggests that my Ident is fun and attractive. Moreover, I have tried to consider every aspect of my Ident so that it all reflects my ideas.
EBI:
- There should be more movement; more happening in the Ident because it can get boring.
- It was short because there wasn't much happening.

Animating The Grid Ident
In the beginning, I originally wanted to use film to create an Ident, but then I thought that we did that in our Dave Idents, so it would be different to use animation. I used Photoshop to create my Ident and I started with cutting out the inner shape of the sunglass lens with the pen tool then making a selection, colouring that section and every time I filled the shape I would make a new frame and layer so that the colours would get smaller in the lens. I figured this didn't work because it didn't look neat and professional, so I just made the lens flash different colours one at a time but I added googly eyes and made them move from left to right and back again following The Grid logo that I had already created.
Exporting The Grid Ident
Once I had finished making my animation on Photoshop and created my music, I had to put them together and export them. To do this I used Final Cut Express and dragged the video into the time line. With the music I had to convert it into a MP3 and them put the file into Final Cut Express and again dragged the file on to a separate time line. I then played them together and they were in sync, so I saved it and uploaded it to YouTube to put onto my blog.
Creating the Music for The Grid Ident
By having catchy jingles to go with your Ident makes the channel successful because then it is able to be retained and related with the channel. I used Garage Band to create my music and because my theme is the 70s and 80s, I knew that my music had to support my motif. There was different beats and synths that were named 80s dance pad, 80s synth, so I used these in order to enhance my theme but added other dance and house beats to modernise it a bit.
Creating The Grid Logo
One of the most important parts of a channel is to have a memorable logo in order for viewers to retain who they are, what they broadcast and they're reputation. My theme that I decided to follow was a 70s and 80s theme because this is the era the target audience were born in or grew up in. My reason for this is because our world is so advanced, it's different to go back into an earlier era to make people reminisce.
I began experimenting around the word 'Grid' in order to think of suitable fonts. I used dafont.com and I searched the word grid to get fonts that took the shape of a grid. The font I ended up using was one that was little cubes together and it reminded me of a Rubik's Cube which was invented in 1974 but established in the 80s. Continuing to use this theme, on Photoshop, I tried different ways to do this but I coloured in all of the squares in a variety of colours.
I like my logo because it follows my theme of items that were made or established in the 70s and 80s, it's bright and colourful which is appealing to the audience and the font compliments the name because of the shape.
Creating the Background of The Grid Ident
At first, my background was just white with the stationary 'The Grid' logo on top. Instead of having a plain background, I thought it would be better to add colour to make it more attractive to the target audience, but just one colour in the background would be a bit boring. To prevent the background from being boring, I used different coloured and sized hand prints all over. I took some inspiration from the channel VIVA, set in a concert where music fans are dancing and jumping with their hands in the air:
I created the background by using Photoshop and I printed left and right hand templates onto my canvas in different colours and sizes. Every time I added a hand, I made a new layer and then added another hand so that it created a vision of hands piling on one and other and repeated until the whole background was filled.
I feel that this background relates to the target audience because the colours look attractive from an audience to watch, it reflects what The Grid broadcasts like a variety of music and like VIVA's idents people's hands in the air raving to music.
